Together we are family build a page

I love paper.
At times I am torn with a paper because I love both sides. So here is my tip on how to get the best of both sides of a paper.

To take advantage of both sides for my layout I fussy cut the border of the MME paper.

I then fussy cut the title of the border.

I love adding texture to a page. But I did not have a stencil. I decided to make my own. Using my circle punch a cut the plastic from the stamp set. I have a binder for my stamps and I am in love with this set so into the binder it will go.

Using my Dreamweaver paste with a gift card gently went over the punched out circle. I let the paste dry.

Then using my color spray sprinkled my white cardstock that will be my base. Pam has a great selection of Lindys stamp gang mist set in the add on section.

I then cut rectangle pieces from side B of the MME paper and distressed them.

I always like to place my pictures and pieces on my layout as I work but only glue everything at the end. This way I can judge size and placing. I matted my picture against black paper.

I adore the MME stamp set that came with this kit. I decided to create layered jars. I stamped the image four times.

I fussy cut the jars and then layered the pattern paper over the white cardstock.

Realizing how much this was an awesome stamp step decided I needed to add some background stamping.

The layered brad was awesome but there was only one. So I decided to cut it up and ink the edges black.

Now I am happy with my layout and glue everything into place

Around my picture I am adding brads and buttons included in the kit. Voila all done.
Cannot wait to see what you will create with this kit.

Have a great day!

Creative Blog Tour

Good morning, Well I am starting Monday off right with a fun blog post! I'm excited to be a part of the Creative Blog Tour. Big Thank you to my lovely friend Nadine for asking me to join in. If you haven't already, make sure to check out Nadine's blog too, I love her work! Also take a look at my lovely new blog! Nadine is the creative one that completely captured my style.

Right now I am working on PL kits and catching up on my own PL. Kim and I always have a great time getting together and working on them. Andrea has also been posting about her PL so my spark is coming back. I have turned to Project Life because the creative aspect of scrapbooking took over. Also my other bright idea was to use up all my fun little paper pieces in my PL. To get the kids involved.

Scrapbooking started as a way for me to capture all of the kids moments. But soon fell in love with the creative process. Below you will meet the three ladies that have really inspired my creative journey. They have encouraged me and help me foster my creative style.

My style is all over the place. I will at times look at a picture and know why I took it. I will work around the moment. Or I will let the paper I am working with inspire. At times it is how I am feeling and I let the process take over. Most of the time it is with the wonderful ladies that I surround myself with. I also love kits!! I cannot put one together but love working with them.

My work is my own and it will go with what I am feeling at the time. It can be very linear or messy. lol I guess you can say it all depends on my mood.

Here are the creative blogs/blogger I have tagged. They will be sharing more about themselves next Monday - August 18th on their blogs. Make sure to stop by and show them some love!

From Lynn:  Ah my Lori after a few years of stalking she is mine. She is extremely talented and has been a great source of inspiration to me. She is an amazing woman inside and out. Truly I am blessed to have her in my life.

From Lori: Hi!  I am Lori and I am a scrapbooking enthusiast!  I typically only make layouts but do love creating altered objects when time permits!! Once in a while I will even make a card!!  I have been crafting most of my life but I was introduced to scrapbooking in 2001. I scoffed at first but it didn't take me long to be hooked!!
My style has developed over the years and has settled into a kind of shabby chic, artistic blend.  I love distressing and inking on my layouts, mixed media, stamping, white space makes me nervous!!  I love most of what Tim Holtz & Ranger have developed.  I can't say there are any companies that don't have something I like, but I do tend to gravitate towards Fancy Pants, 7 Gypsies, Prima & Bo-bunny, Graphic 45 and Glitz Design.  I have a busy life with my very supportive husband Karl.  We have two fantastic boys, Malcolm and Ben.  We also have a bit of a petting zoo in our lives with a dog, 2 cats and 2 bunnies!  I work full time as a landscape designer as well as part time at Scrappin' Great Deals.

Lynn about Kim: My Kim such a fun loving woman. Full of talent and fabulous ideas. She is just as crazy about supplies as I am. A great motivator! When we are together there are a lot of happy laughter tears. I absolutely love my time with Kim. Truly I am blessed to have her in my life.

Just love to do 3D projects, love to teach and love love my Tim!!   Dreams do come true as I met Tim in Chicago this past July .... What a man!  My goal is to take a class with him. I love working at Sheila's and hanging out with my gals.  I have always been in to crafting. My grandmothers were crafters as well so I think it’s in my genes. One of them was a quilter while the other knitted. Lots of beautiful handmade goodies created between both of them. Before I got in to stamping and scrap booking I was in to Tole Painting.
I just love Christmas and Halloween and making crafts to celebrate them with. I have always preferred like the vintage look as you will see in my altered items and other crafts. My favorite paper lines are Graphic 45, Bo Bunny and My Mind’s Eye!

Lynn about  Andrea:
According to Andrea there is no limit. She is full of creative energy. She is a huge enabler. Ask me how I know! Andre is positive and always encouraging. Truly I am blessed to have her in my life.

Hello!!! I have always been into anything artistic and since my singing is crap and my ability to draw nothing more than stick fingers I struggled to let my inner artist out in a medium that I felt let me represent myself adequately in. I was introduced to scrapbooking in 2000 and I was in head over heels! I was then talked into going to a card making party in 2004 and my short attention span and I rejoiced! Instead of working all day on a scrapbook layout I could now spend just half that time on a card.

I am totally addicted to paper, glitter, embellishments, etc. If I can make it into something I have to have it. One of my biggest addictions is tools! I love nothing more than crafty gadgets to enhance my crafting. I will be sharing my must have’s and fave tools here with you along with my projects.

Thank you and have a great day.

The men in my life

Today I am sharing a layout created for the Once Upon A Sketch August Challenge

The theme was the men in our lives. Well I have three fabulous men in my life. My layout is based on the beautiful sketch by Nadia. I have however, flipped the sketch. This was after a slight oops with the glue gun.

I love the colors of the BoBunny Somewhere in Time collection

I have some journaling at the front and back of my layout.
A little of it can be seen at the bottom of my husband's picture.

I also included some fabulous chipboard pieces from Creative Embellishments. For this layout I used the Retro Square Panel

I used some of my Prima Color Bloom sprays, along with Dreamweaver paste, and two beautiful stencils from Memory Box.

Chic Chevron

Stardust Mini Stencil

Have a fabulous Saturday!
