It is all about Love ...

It was a busy week at work. Last night, I came home to hubby having dinner on the table. I was so exhausted that I was in bed by 7. No surprise that I was up at 430 this morning. All was quiet in the house and I had some crafting time. Love the new Jilibean Soup - Heart Healthy Red Bean Soup collection and used two of the yummy papers from the collection, along with black, white and Kraft card stock. I also used Crate Paper Love Notes chipboard pieces {which I LOVE} to my layout.

The theme was inspired by Colorful Creations: It is all about Love challenge. My layout is based on Creative Scrappers sketch 261

Using my Cricut I cut out hearts on Kraft card stock and stamped them with various background stamps.

Clustered hearts and arrows everywhere. Framing my favorite picture from Barb Weir Photography.

Love these tickets which I've popped up.

More layered hearts.

Love matting and matted all elements and thought the black card stock would help pop up the pictures and elements as I used a lot of patterned paper.

Do you want to build a snowman

The kids and I love the new Disney Movie Frozen. I think it is safe to say we've watched it every weekend. We love the songs! Here in Ontario we have had a lot of snow and really cold days. I decided to play with Fancy Pants Timbergrove. I love the colors! They remind me of hot chocolate and building a snowman from when I was a child. The pictures are from the fabulous Barb Weir Photography

Using my cricut I cut out various sizes of flags and snowflakes.

I layered and popped the flags. Added gems in the snowflakes

Inked and distressed with Tim Holtz inks.

The plan was to lightly emboss with some pears and well that didn't work out. So I know have a snow effect on the page.

You, Me, Love ....

Last Friday I went to the SGD Friday night crop! A couple of hours with those ladies and oh my my ... the inspiration! Everyone was working on a February aka Valentine's project and I decided to give it a whirl. I picked up the new Crate Paper line and used January Sketch 1 from Let's Get Sketchy for my page.

I decided to add the deeper color cardstock to help give it a pop.

I am in love with the chipboard elements

Inked and popped the banner

Love love love the look of the stamped date.

Thank you so much for stopping by <3 i="">

LOVE Crate Paper

Winter is definitely here! We are all stuck in the house today! Sadly I am missing the SGD Saturday crop but Sheila does have a great deal on today!  I am THRILLED as I got to play with some new papers from Crate Paper the Love Notes collection and Let's Get Sketchy January Week two sketch!

I normally have a hard time with working with multiple patterned papers but adding a matt at the bottom of all my pieces helped the page pop.

Always love my Tim Holtz Wild Honey Ink... Everywhere.

The chipboard pieces that are with this collection are adorable

Love this collection!

Say Cheese

I had a fabulous weekend! On Friday night I got to scrap with the Diva's of SGD! It is amazing what a couple of hours with the Diva's will do! I am thrilled that I will be joining the SGD team! Dani introduced me to the

Simple Stories - Say Cheese 12x12 Collection Kit, and I fell in love! Although the paper pack is mostly geared towards a trip to Disney I put my own spin to it. My design was based on Creative Scrappers Sketch 259.

I layered a lot of the pieces and created dimension with popping up the stickers. I also used my Crafter's Workshop Mini Star Fall 6x6 Template for the added effect of the stars. (they are more visible on the edges but there are some in the middle --- that is how much fun I was having)

Love popping up and layering.

I gave myself a little pocked for journal cards.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great week!

B-I-N-G-O

Things have finally started slowing down at home & work. I now have a little more time for me and have been getting in some scrap time. I have been able to play along at Let's Get Sketchy and some of their challenges. Right now they have a Bingo Challenge

I sat down this morning and started at the challenge, my plan was to go diagonally from top/right to bottom/left. Then the kids ran in, dishes, laundry and a few phone calls sat back down and continued working. A little distracted I then started my line following the O column. I have two lines... lol... My layout contains, misting / 3 photo's / Christmas Paper (Fancy Pants Timbergrove) and Fancy Pants Doily. I also have tags, 3 Patter Papers from the Timbergrove line, used my circle punch & tag punch and the Crafter's workshop Mask.

These pictures were taken by Barb Weir Photography. I love how the dynamic duo always manage to capture my daughter's fun spirit.

I used Crafters Workshop Capricious mask, Mister Huey's opaque white from SC.

Here is to the first layout of 2014.

Happy New Years my crafty friends.

Place in Time

Last month I attended my first SGD Scrapbooking Retreat and I LOVED IT. I picked up Graphic 45 Place in Time paper pack and decided I was going to make my photographers a calendar. They are are always so good to me. However, it would have seemed that I hit a dry spell after the retreat until I found Let's Get Sketchy, and now I have a little more inspiration to work with. My page is based on December Week 2.

This paper set totally makes me think of Barb and Cheri. They are such a great team and so very creative.

I matted all my pieces in black to make it pop. I layered the stamp and using my Fiskars paper edgers gave some definition. I have also included some of the other calendar pages.

Almost done!! Have a great week.

Sparkle Twinkle Toes

The last week has been a difficult one for the kids. They miss Sparkle Twinkle Toes. That was the name of our Elf. Instead of giving the kids advent calendars this year, Dave and I decided to try Elf on the Shelf. What a great idea! Dave and I had lots of fun, and the kids loved waking in the morning to see where Sparkle had landed. When I saw the new line of BoBunny Elf Magic Collection I knew I needed it!!! One of my gifts from Dave was a little shopping spree at Scrappin' Great Deals! So .... I've decided to put together a little book of memories for the kids.
My page is based from sketch of Week 4 from Let's Get Sketchy

Instead of using three pictures, I switched the sketch up.

I decided to try a file folder style page, so that I can attach a few pictures on the inside. To help my 6 year old with her spelling and writing. I had her write mini stories of how Sparkle got into the places she did. I figured I could also attach some of these stories with the pictures.

I love layers and pop up pieces. I inked all of my edges and the popped up the pictures and letters dimensional squares.

Here are a few of Sparkles adventures.

Can't wait for next year!

Life is a Beautiful Ride

Happy Thanksgiving! The weather is beautiful and this week I had the chance to get some scrap time in for me. It has been very busy with work, school, gym, and activities. I am also getting the chance to really play with my MME new line that I purchased at SGD. I am also starting to put together kits for my retreat. I love this collection and for the MME challenge could not decide on which one to post. So I have two pages to share.

Both pages I used MME Chalk Studio and On the Bright Side.

The first page is about my youngest son Charlie going for his first bike ride. He was so excited but did not grasp the concept of peddling so it made an interesting adventure. Using my chicken fence (I think) background stamp with gesso, I loved inking all the edges of my layers. Flags, flags and more flags! I love the colour of this collection. And I had been holding on for it so long! Yes people I am a paper hoarder. I also used my cricut with my favourite cartridge.

My second page is one of two work occasions that my kids love to attend. And that is the 3M Family Picnic. The company goes all out! Ice cream, bouncy castles, play sets, cotton candy, games, hot dogs and hamburgers. You name it and they have it.

This page used lots of flags, misting with Studio Callico, inking and adding little odds and

ends here and there.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend. Thank you for stopping by :)
