Glitz and Camillas!

Camillas is one of my favorite creative inspirations! Love what she has done below!

New Glitz layouts!

I have played with the simply amazing new products from Glitz. First I played with the Beautiful Dreamer. I used a mask to create a pattern on the background paper. The beautiful peek-a-boo frame is perfect to use for a photo.

Running out of words....

Girlz

Happy Sunday everyone and welcome to my blog J I got my Scrap That! kit a few days ago and finished up my layouts for reveal day and decided to play along at TCR again this week. I made this layout using the sketch from DA and this week’s palette at The Color Room.  I used a tutorial from Scrapperlicious for inspiration on the Girly Grunge look. You can see her blog here. I used lots of Dusty Attic, some of my dads old piano music for the butterflies and a flower and lots of misting and gesso. The photo is my daughter and sister in law.

There are so many layers of Dusty Attic pieces and mists and gesso this was a super fun layout to make. I distressed the outer edges and added some Prima Metal pieces as well.

All of the papers are from Prima. The butterfly and one flower were made from some old piano music from 1940. It was my dads music and I am lucky to have all of his old music. It is really weird paper too..almost a cross between paper and tissue paper and wax paper. It is so discoloured it is perfect for this. Don’t worry though….I would never destroy my dads music, I am lucky enough to have 2 copies of this one specific book.

A close up of the flower and I tucked in a lace doily that I bought from the thrift store.

I did some lacing on t his layout and got to use a new punch set that I just bought J

Ok well that is it for today. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic week. I will be back t his week for my final reveal with Sketchabilities and a new reveal for Stuck on U Sketches.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

She did it again!!!

I love Camillas style! On her blog right now there is the ZVA blog hop and I just love what she's created!

Zva Creative September DT Blog Hop!

Zva Creative and our talented Design Team welcomes you to join us this month for a blog hop that we feel is always extra special! We thought it would be more fun to add even more chances to win our blog hop prize! See details below.
The summer trade show was in July, which means brand new Zva Creative products. So please keep an eye out for them at your local craft stores.
As you know, Zva offers so many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals. We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project.

The Blog Hop begins at
Kim Hughes' blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, just follow along the blog path. I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on FIVE of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package...YAY! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts today, September 26th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, September 27h and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, September 28th on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog as well (linked above). We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.
To increase your chances of winning:
* Comment to let us know that you posted on your Facebook page about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you "tweeted" about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you asked your local store to carry Zva creative products. If they already do, that's fantastic, maybe you can suggest other products that they don't carry
Sooo, you have FOUR chances on each blog to win one of our FIVE prizes! That's technically OVER 50 chances :)
I created a very girly layout this time. The picture is of one of my nieces. I used black crystal Zva swirls that really pop against all the other colours.
The blog hop begins here: Kim Hughes

Your next stop is here: Jillian Deiling Cassity

Thank you SO MUCH for joining us!

Such a Pretty Mess: The Color Room ~ Palette #72 & Some Dusty Attic & Websters Pages

Such a Pretty Mess: The Color Room ~ Palette #72 & Some Dusty Attic & Websters Pages
Not sure what happen this should have posted a few days ago...but look at the amazing work!
I made the above DT layout for this weeks new color palette over at The Color Room ~ Palette #72. This is such a pretty palette, I concentrated on the greys and soft mauve/pink for my layout with touches of the aqua and green/gold. Here is the inspiration photo for Color Palette #72
Lately my girls have been after me to redecorate their bedrooms and Chloe is all about shabby-chic design for her room. I came across this photo of a shabby-chic bedroom and was just so charmed by it.....hence the title 'wish' (my youngest took that photo of me!.....not bad job aye?)

I used cardstock and Websters Pages Country Estate papers and bloom designs cut from Websters Pages Let's Celebrate to make up this layout. The large grey bloom, the cameo (Silhouettes), the sheer white/gold trim and the white lace butterfly netting are all by Websters Pages. The chandelier, Baroque corners (around the cameo piece) and leafy vine are all from Dusty Attic (the vine is one of the new summer releases) The finish I gave the chipboard pieces is simply painted white and edged with a little brown chalk ink. I added some Tim Holtz Rock Candy to add crackle to it (Rock Candy is really cool, not a lot of steps needed, just paint it on and it cracks as it dries! ...the thicker you apply it the bigger the crackle) Here are a few close-up pics.....

I made the pink roses using simple cardstock and the Spellbinders Rose Creations die cuts, you can find my tutorial for these in my sidebar here at my blog.

If you like this palette, come join in the fun and post your project made with these colors over at The Color Palette! Each week the some of the design team members are given the fun task of browsing the gallery and choosing some of the work to feature in the newsletter.....maybe this will be your week! And while you are there have a peek at the work of the other design team members with this palette, they are spectacular!

I'm off to make my girls and their friends a really fun salty/sweet pretzel peanut butter treat that I saw on Pinterest! I'll let you know how they turn out! (I'll be posting a little post tomorrow to announce who won my little giveaway from yesterday!) ....Thankyou EVERYONE for the very sweet comments you all left me here and at Bo Bunny, I've read every single post and am so touched by your words! xx

Camillas-inspiration

This first weekend since starting back at work and I am tired... I lost a bit of my mojo...this adjusting so I've been surfing my inspiration sites...Camillas never disappoints.

Loves animals

My daughter is going to become a vet when she grows up. Her decision was made a loooooong time ago. I really hope she fulfills her dream. She really loves animals.

This year we went to Kolmården, a LARGE zoo here in Sweden. She was in heaven!!!
The layout is for Zva Creative - you can see the gorgeous Zva flowers, branch and pearl swirls. I have used papers from Webster's Pages.

Thanks for visiting!

Such a Wonderful Mess: Enchanted Forest **Sketchabilities**

My top Canadian Artist! Take a look at this layout!

Enchanted Forest **Sketchabilities**

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. Wow this summer is flying by way way too fast and before you know it fall will be here..eeek! I do love fall BUT that means winter after and YUCK!!! LOL OK on to my layout for today...I used sketch #53 from Sketchabilities for this layout. I have not done a boyish layout in a while but had some fun photos from when we went to the Enchanted Forest in June. I used My Mind’s Eye papers for this layout. Here is the gorgeous sketch and my take on it.

I made the rosette flowers and added lots of Dusty Attic goodies on t his layout. You can see them in this close up and all the layers of paper that I used.

Here are a few more close-ups of the stamping that I did.

Boys by Romy

One of my favorite artist just blew me away! Take a look at her wonderful creation...Gave me such inspiration to do a more masculine page for my boys!

Boys

Last Thursday I was in the mood for a boy layout, which doesn't happen too often to me. I'm usually stuck in the pink, glitter and flowers, but that evening I was determined to scrap this photo of my little brother;) These gorgeous, masculine Stella & Rose papers and the fabulous sketch over at the My Mind's Eye blog made it even easier for me to create this layout. I didn't even have to look for coordinating embellishments, cause I already had these Stella & Rose embellishments: (chipboard, buttons, a die-cut and brads by My Mind's Eye) laying around too, so this layout was finished within just a few hours (which is kind of a personal record for me, LOL). You can find the fabulous MME sketch here, BTW. And have you also seen their new releases already? I'm totally in love with each of them, but especially the new Lost & Found collection has got me smitten:)

Supplies: My Mind's Eye: Stella & Rose Hattie papers, chipboard stickers, buttons, brads, Family die-cut, twine; Prima Marketing: Madrigal flower, Love Letter rose, tulle left-overs; Petaloo: blue flower; Tim Holtz: ornate frame, edge distresser; Ranger Industries: liquid pearls, distress stickles, crackle accents; Uchida: liquid applique; Other: sanding tool.
