Let's Scrap Card Challenge October

Welcome Friends! Every third Wednesday of the month we get an amazing card sketch at Let's Scrap.

Now I have to be honest today is August 9th! When I saw this Card Sketch I had to!! I had to do it right away!

Here is my take on it! I used Bobunny Vicki B paper and floral stamp. Kaiser Craft stamp for the sentiment. Used my MS punch for the beautiful butterfly and added misc bling on the end of the flourish stamp. On the top left had corner attempted to create glass pearls using Viva Decor!

Glitz and Camillas!

Camillas is one of my favorite creative inspirations! Love what she has done below!

New Glitz layouts!

I have played with the simply amazing new products from Glitz. First I played with the Beautiful Dreamer. I used a mask to create a pattern on the background paper. The beautiful peek-a-boo frame is perfect to use for a photo.

The Dance in Sunshine has magnificent colours. Just look at the yellow and blue in this layout. I have added some white to make the colours pop even more. Look at the picture. I had these girls over for some scrapping a while back. We had so much fun!

Healing through Creativity

Breast Cancer Awareness and Healing through Creativity

Posted on 10/14/2011 by creatingkeepsakes

In 2008, my life changed drastically with one phone call. I went from a happy-go-lucky 27-year-old to the daughter of a breast cancer fighter—news of Mom’s cancer definitely meant I grew up quickly.

Here's my mama, wearing her beautiful pink Survivor shirt at the 2010 Race for the Cure event.

I’m thrilled to report that Mom is a survivor and doing well. But her illness will forever haunt our family. For one, I now have a 1 in 3 chance of developing breast cancer. Scary thought, isn’t it? And, even if breast cancer isn’t in your family, you (the female yous reading this) still have a 1 in 8 chance of getting the disease. That’s what happened to my sweet mama. She had her lump for a while, she knew it was there, but she let it be, thinking not me—breast cancer isn’t in our family. Well, it has to start somewhere.

I love this shot of Mom and Pop holding hands as they make the Race for the Cure journey. It isn’t my goal to be Debbie Downer on our blog today. I just don’t want to see any of you go too long without getting screened. Now’s as good a time as any.

I’m also here to share how lucky we are to be a part of the scrapbooking community. So many incredible companies work to raise awareness of this disease that impacts so many. Through charitable campaigns, product designs, and project ideas, the scrapbooking

community is making a difference on this front. Here’s just some of what you’ll find available:

A sampling of some of the amazing products developed by the scrapbooking industry to support the search for a cure to breast cancer, as well as a few fun pink extras.

Sisters and Let's Scrap

Good morning, well again this week I got to play with Cheri's amazing sketch! This is one of my favorite sketches as it gave me the chance to showcase my many pictures of my sister and I. I think I've said it before but when my sister was a child you could not put a camera in front of her or she would cry so her baby pictures are limited and then in the early years we were just always so busy that photo's are few and far between. Plus I'm not sure who had the camera back then but their are a lot of pictures with cut off heads and lots of wall space. Thank God for digital now!
A few weeks ago I participated in the SGD garage sale. If you have never been you really need to go and check it out. I submitted a box and came back with a nice little profit! In which I purchased the new BoBunny line! I also used my MS punch and my favorite Cricut Cartridge from CTMH. Tim Holtz Ink and ribbon from my stash. I am all about the distressing so I tried to use layers upon layers!

I got my hands on the new bobunny line and couldn't help playing along with Scrapbooking with V. Love the layers of the sketch and got to use some of my stash stickers!!!
These two pictures are some of my favorite. This is George and when I was about six months. She looks so happy and proud.

Dreams Make Them Happen

Inspired

Inspired by lynnshaffer7
Using the color pallet from Scrapbooking with V and the Creative Scrappers Sketch #174 I came up with this page. Which is one of my favorite from my first communion with George and I. I got to use my favorite paper line Kaiser.
