Easter Fun

A few weeks ago my husband and I took our kids to get their pictures taken by Barb Weir Photography. She had amazing sets to choose from and live bunnies! We told the kids that they would be going to see the laughing girls as they have affectionately Barb & Cherie. They were thrilled and tickled pink to see live bunnies! My kids love animals so this was a real treat for them. Me, well next to watching my kids have a ball. I knew I was going to get some amazing pictures!

SGD had another amazing paper sale and I couldn’t help getting my hands on some lovely paper!! I picked up the new Kaisercraft 75 cents collection. Along with the Tigerlilly collection, Madame Boutique collection & the Sweet Nothing Collection {I loved these collections so much I bought them all over again}. I also picked new TCW templates to play with! The result??? A very happy mommy!

I am not big on titles of my pages but love hidden journaling.  But I could not help titling Charlie’s page Easter Fun based on Kaisercrafts March Saturday Sketch number 3. Using the 75 cents collection as my base I layered my papers behind Charlie’s bright and glowing picture. I inked my edges and used my new template for the vine design. Using my CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge cut out the flags. I tend to keep any sticker letter sheets and luckily had all the letters for my title. Sadly the manufacture was cut off so if anyone recognizes these letters let me know.

For Casey’s page I mixed most of the collections together and did some stamping and inking. But loved the idea of words throughout Saturday’s 1st sketch. Matting my backgrounds in black was to pop the images out. I think Casey’s eyes in this picture say it all but loved adding the extra text.

Sophie’s page was one of my favorites to create. I based it on Kaisercraft Saturday Sketch number 4. Soft layers and inking with my favorite color Tim Holtz Distress Ink “Wild Honey”.  Pulled out some of my Petalboo flowers with a few Prima flowers to contour my picture. Went through my stash and found a few odds and ends to embellish my page. I did some extra inking with Tattered Angels Patina.

What I love about the sketches and paper is even without a title the paper and pictures tell a story and capture the essence of my children perfectly.

Happy Easter
