La Belle

Hello!
It has been a crazy couple of weeks but I finally had the chance to play with a few new dies that I had purchased at SGD.  My layout is based on the fabulous challenge over at my Creative Embellishments July Challenge

The Challenge was two fold. Be inspired by this lovely image and the second part was something on your project had to be dry or heat embossed.

My first thought of the image was sitting back and relaxing. I love the beautiful mix of colors.
And I knew that I wanted to use my new LE Kit from My Creative Scrapbook.

This kit is filled with such soft beautiful pieces. I chose to heat emboss my beautiful CE corner piece.

I love butterflies  and I have to tell you how pleased I am with the Wild Rose Studio Dies - Butterfly Burst Die. This beautiful die is simply stunning.

I enjoy flowers but was looking for a little something extra to add to my clusters. I found this beautiful die by Memory Box Dies - Woodland Branch Die. Simple and elegant.

Such beautiful papers and flowers.

Have a great long weekend! Thank you for stopping by.

Making it pop

Hello my crafty friends! Today I am sharing my tips/tricks to creating a layout that will stand out with a patterned background.

I will be the first one to admit I love paper. I love using each and every last bit. I had left over pieces from my first layout created, and decided to incorporate my black and white picture with the printed black paper. The first step was to cut my black print patterned paper down to 11 ¾ all around and mat to white card stock. I then matted my picture to the green colored paper and inked the edges.

I cut  2x2 squares and inked the edges black to make them pop. Take a look at how the color pops with the extra inked edges.

To give my layout texture, I applied a light coat of Dreamweaver paste, and created a horizontal line of circles with the Studio Calico stencil. I knew I was going to cover up most of these circles so I put a very light coat. Using my heat gun dried the paste.

The sticker sheets have wonderful journal prompts. Stickers at times can look very flat. I applied the sticker to the colored paper and with a my journaling pen traced the edges. I then cut around the edges giving a matted appearance.

Once my paste was dry, I selected the best position for my picture and layered the squares horizontally on my layout.

I also added circles for a little more appearance of depth.

Sometimes a little can go a long way. Hope you enjoy this tutorial and I can't wait to see what you create!

Have a fabulous week!

Take A Chance On Me

Happy Thursday.
Today I am sharing a project I created with BoBuny Somewhere In Time - Ephemera collection and Prima Riley Mixed Media Doll Stamp by Julie Nutting. Sheila has some on pre-order

Each Somewhere In Time - Ephemera contains different items. This is what my kit contained. At first I was surprised to see some of my favorite BoBunny collection pieces. Until I realized this is the best of the best of my favorite collection pieces.

I love these stamps. My daughter loves all the fun designs too!

Keep an eye on the up coming pre-orders from SGD
