SGD afternoon full of Flying Unicorn and Creative Scrappers

My favorite time of month is the end of the month! Why??? Because that is the day I pack up my bags and take a drive to Scrapping Great Deals! Me and my girls spend the day craftin'! Oh this day is so good for my scrappy soul! Surrounded by Susan, Lori, Sheila and Andrea the creative juices just start to flow!!! At the Flying Unicorn there were 10 Challenges this month. I used the Creative Scrappers Sketches 194 to 198 as the base for these challenges. Plus on Counterfeit Kit Challenge Sketch 194 was used as inspiration.

Sketch 194-These are pictures of my daughter month one. I can say that this is probably the first time that I have used smaller pictures to complete a layout. But I love this!!! Using the new Ambrosia paper from Bobunny I love this page. I did some distressing, inking and misting. This page was the perfect page for Flying Unicorn Challenge your style

Sketch 197 - this is by far my favorite page again using again the BoBunny Ambrosia collection. Misting, distressing, using hearts and lots of layers. The challenge put forth by Frank was to use hearts. Which is not normally my thing but this challenge surprised me.

Sketch 195-using again a new Bobunny Marketplace collection was perfect for the unvalentine challenge by Alda. I love this picture of my youngest Charlie. He could only sleep when jumping himself to sleep. Lots of distressing, inking and layering!
Sketch 196. One of my favorite pictures of my son. He is so adventurous and curious. Using Simple Stories paper, distressed, ink and misted the paper. Using various buttons adds a fun element.

Thank you for stopping by!!

**Flying Unicorn**Mojo Monday

Mojo Monday on a Sunday! I know! But normally I don't get to play very much during the week. It is a little hard. This weekend, however, I had company visiting from out of town and my little girl is so very sick. But I did get a chance to finally play with this weeks sketch. I have a few other projects on the go for other challenges in the Flying Unicorn forum!
I flipped the sketch over to match my picture set up. I used one of my favorite BoBunny line.

I am still working through my stash! Oh dear never in a million years did I think I had this much stuff. But the SGD yard sale is coming up soooo maybe I can get rid of some stuff there and buy some new paper! But let me tell you it is a challenge. I am learning to use my stickers, various flowers and as many little left over scraps that I can. Also putting my little machine to work and stitched all the pages. That is big for me! lol!

I've added some dragonfly stickers that Sophie picked out during one of our outings, that I know she loved.

After attending a class at Miss Arts I am trying to use more of my stickers.Which really worked out for me in this case. It reads "together sweet girl full of personality".

Did lots of layering (because I love the look of it ).

Well that is all for me today. Off to try my hand at another challenge.Have a great week!

CPS/BoBunny love this match up!

I think it is fair to say I am a few days behind in blogging. So tonight is my catch up night!I am still holding strong to using my stash and made this card based on the CPS sketch. They are celebrating their 5th anniversary. Great sketches! I decided to use the last of my BoBunny paper and trim to create this card. I will be honest I wait till addressing my cards before stamping the sentiment.

One of a Kind **Sous**

Using the Stuck On U Sketch as inspiration. I started off with one side of the sketch. I love this picture of my little guy and decided on complimenting his red vest with the red and white paper. I also did lots of distressing, layering and inking. My snowflakes are all die cut and I embossed a few also.

Used some nice lace ribbon across the bottom of my page.
Here are some of my die cut snow flakes, embossed snow flakes and I added some pearls. After watching The Secret Garden Layout Class by Stacy Cohen at Miss Arts, I tried hard to re-create her concepts in my layout.

In taking one of Miss Arts class on layering I did do some background stamping.

More pictures of stamping, buttons, and layers. Hope you are having a great Sunday!

**Flying Unicorn**Mojo Monday Challenge

Having three young kids, working full time, full time wife keeps me busy but crafting relaxes me! So it is a good addiction to have! Every Monday at the Flying Unicorn there is a sketch to get you going! This sketch is a tease to be honest. During the week I am swamped with family life that I don't normally get to play with the sketch so I just get to drool over it. So oddly enough, my mojo monday post normally happen on Sunday! I am thrilled to say however, that I am still sticking with my new years resolution of using up my current stock of product!

When working on pages for my boys I try to keep the heavy layers to a minimum. But did some inking, distressing and layering. I am trying many new techniques in the last couple of weeks as I have a membership at Miss Arts School!

I tried to accentuate the mittens from the page with Liquide Applique from my stash.

I tucked in some journalling. Yep still working at adding or hiding journalling in my layouts.

Thought this caption was perfect for this page. He just loves the snow! Thanks for stopping by!

Snowflakes**Flying Unicorn**Sketchabilities**Practical Scrappers

I will call this my multipurpose layout. It started off towards one challenge at the Flying Unicorn then headed towards another when I realized I was using transparencies in the form of snowflakes! Which is one of the 10 challenges for February you'll find at the The Flying Unicorn. Sandi C is hosting the transparency challenge. I needed a sketch to start me off and found Sketch #64 at Sketchabilities to help me out! Which initially caught my eye as Practical Scrappers was having a banners without triangle challenge. So I decided to use snowflake brads and a combo of snowflakes and buttons for one banner and mittens and buttons for the other banner. Now I worked very hard on this page, lots of distressing, layering, punching, using transparencies and embossing, die cutting snowflakes yes it was a process. But what can I say, I guess I was in a mood.

So here I did some embossing with one of my snowflake stamps. Added some stickles and well you can see where I made a boo boo with my spritzing. I recently took a class at Miss Art's Demystifying Mist with Sarah Webb, and wanted to give it a go! Great Class.
close up of one of my banners. In the sketch it looked like one circular doily so I decided to use my die cut snowflakes instead. Julie Winks also had a class on layering which I tried my hand at. Also clustering! My bigest challenge I love the look but never know how to completely achieve it. Alos never knew what to do with those sticker letters but after Alyssa McGrew class Cluster Muster, I added those letters with dimension to all my layouts!!! Whooo Hooo

My second banner with the buttons and mittens.

using one of my corner stamps did some embossing.

Here one of my transparencies tucked behind my layering of snowflakes.

and on my picture another snowflake transparency. It was a really funny moment when I realized that I could participate in the challenge at Flying Unicorn because I didn't realize I had transparencies!

My last transparency snowflake that I added a little stickles to. You can also see my snowflake brad used to hold up my banners. Thanks for stopping by! Can you tell I am not a football fan...I'm catching up on all my blog posting.

Sweet Dreams **Flying Unicorn**La Zone Sketch #8

Sweet Dreams is a picture of my little guy Casey fast asleep after a big day cuddling his seahorse. the sketch that I was inspired by was from La Zone Sketch. I love the various banners across the page. I've been dying to use these papers but just didn't know how. Also did some stitching on the layout as there is a great challenge at Flying Unicorn hosted by Denise. So this was a perfect marriage of creativity. I did lots of distressing, inking and cut out parts of the train to give the layering effect in some spots.

Here you can see where I did some journalling and layering. Also I cut out some of the animals in the train and layered.

Just a bit of stitching. Why? Because I am really not good at it but I tried. Also I wasn't sure how the "sparkle" paper would hold up. I love the look of the card stock but it is so hard to work with.

Yep more stitching shots but this shows a little of the fussy cutting and 2 dimension look I was going for. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Sunday!

Flying Unicorn ~ Challenges

It is Thursday one day closer to Friday! I can't wait as Friday nights after the kids are in bed I get to scrap, scrap, scrap!!! Now I will be honest I normally jump from website to website because I love challenges to improve my craftin' style. At the Flying Unicorn every month there are 10 challenges (actually 14 challenges if you count the sketchy Monday's) to participate in. So now I don't have to jump any more! In short form here are the challenges. Come visit the Flying Unicorn to take part! The RAK's for these challenges are AWESOME!
