Happy

This past Friday Creative Scrappers celebrated 6 years! It was a fun and amazing bash! Great sponsors and I discovered an amazing new company Creative Embellishments which I placed an order for some yummy new embellishments. On Saturday, I spent the day at Scrappin' Great Deals 12 hour crop. I also got my hands on the new Prima Bloom sprays and Tim Holtz mini inkers. Can you tell it has been an amazing creative weekend for me?

My layout was inspired by this amazing sketch. I love the layer look. Instead of triangles I choose butterflies and stamp shapes.

As I wait for my new order of embellishments to come in, I decided to play along with Creative Embellishment April Challenge.  The Challenge was to be inspired by the below image the twist is to use at least 4 of the 10 items in the list  below on the project.

When I saw the bright colors and balloons I thought of my sister Michelle. My sister is one amazing woman, full of life and spunk. She loves celebration and cake making and when we are together, it always feels like a party.

In my layout I misted my Prima paper with the new Prima Color Bloom sprays, and I used Dreamweaver paste on the edges with my chicken wire stencil. Gesso gel on my butterflies will give them a glass finish. I heat embossed my vine. My classy sister loves her pearls, so I decorated the butterflies and vine with pearls.

I love the colors of the Prima Bloom Sprays.

Have a great week!

Movie Night

Happy Monday. I took the day off work today.  It felt so nice to stay home with the family. I also had some scrap time for myself. This project actually started off in making kits for the SGD retreat next month, and turned into this double page layout. I did not realize how much Christmas paper I had. So I decided to see what I could create with my Christmas paper that did not look like a winter theme.

I based my layout on two sketches from Let's Get Sketchy  Week one and Week three

Week One sketch.
Week Three

I actually flipped week three sketch so that I could make the double layout work with my wording.

We love family movie nights. I used a mixture of Simple Stories and Fancy Pants paper. I cut all hints of Christmas from the papers.

On each side of the page I included a little journaling pocket.
I also had the chance to use my new Tim Holtz hashtag stamp.

Stars and film strip worked well with my title theme. I scored an amazing star punch from the SGD garage sale. Who am I kidding?! I love stars.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great week.

Blossom

Happy Thursday. This past weekend I decided to try and get ahead of my project life and create the following week's page.  With the new Imaginisce Welcome Spring line and a little help from Creative Scrappers Sketch I created this double page layout. This sketch is awesome!

I absolutely love journaling cards, with this line.
I love the mix of darker and light spring colors. For my page I loved the navy and forest green. Well I have to cut today's post short as Sheila is enabling my love of paper with a 40% sale!

Have a great Easter Weekend.

Week 10 PL

Hello.  Saturday,  on the SGD blog and Andrea posted a great video for project life. Today I am sharing my own adventures for project life. I have always kept a journal of sorts for the kids and their moments. When I started scrapbooking, it was to record those moments. Then scrapbooking became so much more than just documenting. The more my passion grew for the creative aspects, the less documenting I did. Project life lets me tell that story.

I purchased the Midnight Collection Core Kit.

I picked this kit for the black, grey, white and gold colors. My thought was that I could pre-slot my cards and make it a faster project in my album. I had also purchased the corner rounder punch.

and the Square Corner 3x4 Picture Punch.  These two tools are real time savers!

Perfect punch out.

During the week I keep a little journal. Then I would  fill out the journal cards and decide on my photo's. I do love the uniformity of the kit, but maybe the scrapper in me wanted to add a little color.  This is my 'work in progress' picture.

So I went through my sticker sheets and paper scraps and added some color.

I am thrilled with how this week turned out. It really does represent me and my little family.

Sticker sheets are sometimes tricky for me so I love that I can put them to good use. With my star border punch, I added some fun elements. If you look at the bottom right picture you can see the negatives of the stars from the border punch.

With my Square Corner 3x4 Picture Punch I was able to punch out the Lego Land brochure. I also found a cool documentation stamp.
Here are more close ups of details.

How do you work with Project Life? I would love to know. Have a great week.

Say Cheese

It is a beautiful Sunday afternoon today. April showers have apparently given me spring sniffles. Every weekend there is something on the go but I just couldn't this weekend. Worked on a few projects and laundry. I decided to play along with a sketch from My Creative Sketches

For this project I used the original mama razzi BoBunny Collection.

I cut out flags and used buttons from my collection. The film strip was cut using my cricut. Adding a little drywall tape for texture.

Using a little Dreamweaver and Tim Holtz stencils added more texture. I also used my BoBunny texture stamp.

I also tried to play with Dylusion Inks and Viva Decor. Thrilled I took out this collection from my stash.

Have a great week!

The Peaceful Heart finds Beauty in all things.

Happy Saturday!

It is a lazy kind of day for our family today. A few kids have stuffy noses and Dave and I are catching up on laundry. I had some time this morning to play with some of my mix media goodies, so I made this canvas for our master bedroom .

Today I went all out in my little world. The Dusty Attic chipboard saying I've been holding onto for years. Yes, you read that right. I love the saying so much that I wanted to use if for the perfect project. The butterflies are also from the Gabrielle collection from BoBunny that I've again had for a few years. I covered my canvas with BoBunny paper, misted it with Dylusions Ink Spray. and using my Dreamweaver Embossing Paste with my Crafter's Workshop Reverse Chickenwire template.

I have a chipboard piece again from the BoBunny Gabrielle collection, along with Prima flowers and Petaloo White Wild Blossom

I have a few more projects on the way.
Have a fabulous day.

Keep Calm and Try not to Laugh

Hello! Today I am sharing a layout I created for my upcoming April 12th class at SGD.

I absolutely love the "Keep Calm and Try not to Laugh" saying on this journaling card. It is perfectly suited for my son! He is one crazy fun and loving little man. The ticket sheet was perfect for my border across this double layout. Kits will be available. You can't go wrong for the young adventurer in your life. More than a few worked for my little ones :)

I am loving my stencils and my background stamps. Sheila must have realized my new passion as she put on an amazing sale on all Memory Box Stencils. For this layout I used Rings and Puddles Stencil with a little Dreamweaver embossing paste.

Well, one day closer to the weekend. Have a great day!
