#hscapturelife

My heart broke reading Heidi Swapp's blog post concerning the lost of her son. Crafting and being creative does heal. And in the next chapter of her life she is encouraging all of us to document those moments.

Take a look at this video which describes how she will capture life. 30 DAYS. 30 PROMPTS. 30 REASONS.

I was late reading my blog post to start on the first day. So below I have captured some of these great prompts to get us going.

Here are some products you will find helpful on this journey.

How to make pinwheels

Lynn here with a tutorial on pinwheels!
I loved making these cute pinwheels!

Here is how I made them. I cut a 3inch x 3 inch square.

I drew lines in the corners about an inch

I then cut up the lines

Fold one corner and attached a button or you can use a brad!
Voila! A simple embellishment :)

Gelato,stencil and stamps oh my!

Hello my crafty friends. Lynn here today sharing a few pictures of my fabulous vacation with the kids.

We love crafts! This week was so very hot in Southern Ontario we worked in the shade or indoors during the afternoons.
We made our own shirts! But if you see in the center of the table are stencils. I pulled out my stencils for the kids to follow the design.

I have collected a few stencils over the years. But my daughter really enjoyed making the small hearts on her t-shirts.

I also love the Faber Castle Gelato's for the kids.
For so many reasons!

I laid a craft mat out and make small color circles. I then gave the kids water brushes and they used their own gelato colors.

The kids loved the gelato's because of their bright colors. Each child had their own section with their own color so no arguing. they picked colors that suited them. And the clean up!!!! WoW

I also used some of my Prima and Tim Holt stamps too!!!

Never a dull moment

Happy Day my friends,

Today I am sharing my tutorial on my background for my "never a dull moment"
This has to be one of my favorite pictures of my youngest! You can tell he is so full of energy!

You know when they say that there are no oops in scrapbooking only creative adventures?!?!
We'll this was my creative adventure!
My original design was going to be splashes of red around the photo. I was to use clear gesso and then blotch away. Apparently, the coffee was not strong enough and I grabbed my white gesso. I started painting it on with a paintbrush and realized "oh wrong one".

So began my creative adventure! I randomly started streaking the pattern paper!
I still wanted to have the red!
I mixed some of Mister Huey's ink with Dreamcatcher paste!

And then we had pink! So I kept adding red till I had my color!
I applied the paste to my stencil and started spreading my colored dreamweaver paste.
Unfortunately I did not use the right ratio of ink to paste and it was a little watery.
But it left me with a fabulous look!

I had still managed to achieve my splashes!

Using some of the fabulous embellishments and layering I matched everything up very nicely.

I then added a few splats of dark ink to show layer!

Have a fabulous day!!!

Stencils, texture and dimension

Hello,  Lynn here today sharing my creative process for creating my Rainy Day layout.
I love my stencils and they are just not for misting.
Stencils can be inked, misted, used to apply molding paste and I like to use them as templates. I love the dimension that stencils add.

With a pencils I traced around the stencil.
Cut out the extra pieces.

I used a stencil with circles to add extra elements.

I love using stencils.
In my hello sunshine layout I used my hexagon stencil.

Rainy day layout I used my stars and script stencil.

I love my shattered glass stencil. Adds such great texture.

Using two colors with one stencil adds extra dimension.

 Enjoy your kit!!!
Have a great day
Lynn
