My
Christmas gift this year was some scrappy goodies. So a new cricut cartridge, a
class with Karan and some extra spending money in which I bought myself some
yummy paper! So I decided to use Prima’s
Nature Garden Collection for this page. With my new cricut cartridge. I cut out the
puzzle pieces, inked the edges, and layered. I cut out borders with one of my
MS punches. I wanted to pop out the red so decided to use some of Tim Holtz
paper and found a few trinkets I added to the page. I also used my new stamp I
won from SGD. The stickers are from Glitz.
Sketch 82 from Sketchabilities was the inspiration from where I based my layout.
Going through my stash found this sticker from Glitz that I fell in love with. Because it captures exactly my thoughts and sentiments of the picture. This year
marks 10 years that Dave and I met. And I am still completely in love with him. We have had our ups and downs, high and lows. But at the end of the day he is
still my love, my heart and mine. This photo was taken by Barb Weir
Photography. Having family pictures is very important for me. Both Dave and I
only have a couple of them from when we were kids so we want to make sure that
captured these memories. I have to admit before pictures I am a little nuts. I
want everything perfect. I spend weeks picking out outfits to match the
background, to match the paper I will ultimately use to scrap them. And there
is my husband in the background keeping me grounded. When we are at the Studio
I start to relax and we take our pictures. Satisfied that I have all the
pictures I want of the kids I start to pack things up when my husband asks if
he and I can get some pictures together. Just the two of us. A few weeks later
when we got the pictures back I fell in loved them. But what really struck me
with this picture of Dave and I, is how Barb captured us so perfectly. Dave
balances me, he makes me happy, makes me smile, makes my heart sing , my soul dance and most
importantly he makes me laugh. He loves me. And this picture captures it.
I love the puzzle pieces. And in this case they were a perfect pick. When I met
Dave I was in the process of putting the pieces of my life back together.
Building myself a new life. 10 years later, together we built a beautiful family.
Have a great weekend.
