Wednesday, July 06, 2011 4:04:57 PM (Eastern Daylight Time, UTC-04:00) Back in December 2010, I had the pleasure of hosting Becky Fleck here in our Cincinnati, Ohio, photo studio. For two days we filmed Becky to create two videos of her in action, creating layouts and cards and sharing her amazing wealth of design and scrapbooking knowledge. There were six of us all together working on the shoot: Becky; Christine as producer; Dani our intern worked the teleprompter; and Philip, Adam and Ric worked the cameras. When Becky first arrived, we spent a little time building a set for the videos. Becky brought items from her own studio to help us decorate it and make it feel a bit more like home. It always takes an artist a bit to get used to the cameras and the layout of the room. Here’s Becky’s view of the scene (the large smiley face is on the teleprompter reminding everyone to smile!). Here’s Christine’s view, looking onto the set from between all the cameras. We do have 3 cameras going at once, and these are the monitors that show us what’s being filmed at that moment. And here’s Adam, one of the cameramen, lurking in the corner, getting all the great side and detail shots. Each segment takes discussion and planning to get it just right. Here’s Ric, our Studio Manager, working with Becky to prepare the next shots. After those two long days, we did get two really great videos, truly packed with information. In the first of the two video, Making the Most of Your Scrapbook Sketches, teaches you how to use one of her fabulous sketches three different ways to create three different layouts. She also shares insights into the design of the sketches in her book Scrapbook PageMaps 2 and offers more suggestions as to how they can be interpreted in different ways. The second video, available in August, is titled Scrapbooking Tips and Techniques. In it, Becky shares dozens and dozens of great tips for making your scrapbooking easier and more fun. I personally love the tips she has for things like lining up letter stickers and making flower embellishments. A huge thanks to Becky and the video team for all their hard work in making these videos!
